PAS staining of the peripheral blood smears were done in 10 cases of infectious hepatitis, 10 cases of typhoid fever, 6 cases of tuberculous meningitis, 4 cases of. pneumococcal pneumonia, 3 cases of lung abscess, 2 cases of septicemia. and 10 college students as the control group.
The following results were obtained.
1. In the patients with infectious hepatitis, typhoid fever and septicemia the number of neutrophil which contained much PAS positive material were increased.
2. In patients with infectious hepatitis, typhoid fever and septicemia the appearance rate of PAS positive lymphocyte and the score were increased.
